Merci pour la visite au musée. Ce musée est pour nous exceptionnel, par la diversité des objets trouvés sur le site. Les reconstitutions ont été réalisées avec beaucoup de soins. Un grand MERCI à Monsieur Henri DELEPIERRE, qui nous a guidé pour la visite. J'espère que nous nous reverrons

Thank you Carole Laignel for showing us around the excellent museum at Fromelles on a recent visit. We had come to see the grave of Joseph Harold Nevill an Australian soldier 31st Battalion, now identified and buried at the new CWGC cemetery. My thanks for your kindness and hospitality.

My grandfather was Captain Alexander Sanderson of the 3rd Australian Tunnelling Compnay. He was awarded his first of two MC's on the morning of 19 July 1916 for going out under fire in No Man's life opposite Sugar Loaf to join up the wires of a push pipe to blow the Rhonnda sap. According to his memoirs he accompanied the 2/1 Ox and Bucks and entered the German trenches at Sugar Loaf - unconfirmed historically. 'Tunnelling Commander' is my forthcoming book.
